After playing my shade for a while I can tell you why people don't think they're the best DD. Shade perks all carry nice taunts. And that means very soon you have a shade tank. And shade tanks don't last long. Then you get people going OMG gimp u r teh suxors roffle u died in lke 2 hits omg lol ma better thnna u!
How long did you play the shade? To what level?
Because my opi shade (level138 now) has been successfully tanking hecklers and alien mobs/generals/admirals since level 107 when I equipped the weapons I'm using. I've only been killed by aliens 3 times with ai level 7. As for hecklers, even a gimp advy can heal me well enough for me to tank those. Tanking as a shade is very easy actually if you know how to handle your IP and how to use your agg/deff bar.
Also I've seen the results of a damage dumper from a team attacking LOTV with a 217 shade and a 219 advy in the team and the advy was the #3 DD, shade was #1. Agent was #2 DD, but not by much, the advy was very close in dmg to the agent. So sorry to disappoint you, but Shades EASILY OD advy in PVM.
